Introduction

Felines, Cats. Lions, tigers, bears, oh my! No, no, no. Not bears at all! Just cats, as you can probably guess, this page is on cats. More specifically, big cats. The difference between small cats and big cats is that big cats can growl and roar and cannot purr. Small cats cannot growl or roar, and they can purr. Big cats are tigers, lions, jaguars, and leopards. Later cheetahs, cougars, snow leopards, clouded leopards, and Sunda clouded leopards were added to the list, even though the cheetah and the snow leopards cannot roar. Anything else is a small cat like fishing cats and housecats.

A Little Extra

Big cats live all over. They are in the Americas, Asia, Africa, and Europe. They are all carnivores (this actually goes for all cats, not just big ones), which means they only eat meat. But their biggest threats are habitat loss and poaching. There will be more about that later.
