Joel

Joel is in his late 40's to early 50's during the time of the game. He has been surviving in this apocalyptic world since it all started. Due to a tradgety in his past Joel only cares about a limited amount of people in the world he lives in, and that limited group is limited to two people. The world Joel lives in is a world with ration cards to keep food in check and a war between life and death. His tough southern exterior is shown troughout many parts of the game. Even when he learns about Ellie. Joel and Ellie are first conected when Joel is hired to smugle her out of a city and to a camp in a different city occupied by fireflies, a resistence group against the military and a group trying to find a cure to the zombie disease. Throughout the game Ellie and Joel's relationship goes from bad to great, to bad, and to good again. Will Joel leave Ellie to die in the infected and extremely dangerous wild and why is Ellie so important?
